Underwhelming。 This book gave me flashbacks of scenes from Lord of the Rings when Frodo and Sam are traveling。 The journey is necessary but it took up so much of the book。 This read like a second in a trilogy。

Loved itThis series was way better than the Roseward series。 If I am being nitpicky, I think it would've been better if the Moon bride spent more time getting to know her groom。 And editing could be better。 But this series I enjoyed and will happily reread。 Loved itThis series was way better than the Roseward series。 If I am being nitpicky, I think it would've been better if the Moon bride spent more time getting to know her groom。 And editing could be better。 But this series I enjoyed and will happily reread。 。。。more

I’m so happy with the conclusion Valera and Erolas’ story!! It was delightful to have Valera searching and fighting free her man。 The worlds Sylvia create are dark, light and beautiful。 I loved exploring the Whispering Woods and learning more about Valera’s sister Brielle。 This set of stories take you through all emotions with a memorable ending。 Enjoy your adventures with Valera you won’t be disappointed。I received an advance readers copy, I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review。

Must read!!!This series is a little eternity that I mourned after finishing。 Solid plot, character arcs, and impossible choices in a race to return to true love。

What an epic conclusion to this series! Sylvia’s world and character building skills are like few I have ever read。 She is able to tell an amazing, immersive story and always leaves me wanting to read more!

Absolutely incredible I could not have asked for a better ending and adventure。 My favorite series to boot, right along with The scarred mage of roseward。 I can’t wait to read this again and again!!!! Thank you!!!!

East of the Sun, West of the Moon has reached its ending and it was hypnotizing。 Valera has really grown some resolve here - not that she didn't have it before but her insecurity because of not knowing what was going on tended to deflect her from acting in a consistent determined fashion。 Not that she knows this much here but she has a purpose and it keeps leading her。Once again, the worldbuilding and the visual images were excellent and haunting。 I loved Brielle, Granny Dorelle, the mysterious East of the Sun, West of the Moon has reached its ending and it was hypnotizing。 Valera has really grown some resolve here - not that she didn't have it before but her insecurity because of not knowing what was going on tended to deflect her from acting in a consistent determined fashion。 Not that she knows this much here but she has a purpose and it keeps leading her。Once again, the worldbuilding and the visual images were excellent and haunting。 I loved Brielle, Granny Dorelle, the mysterious Mage with the sour handmaiden - all the motley crew that gave this book life。 The Pale Queen was a delightful villain, the end was rather unexpected and I can't wait for Brielle's story。 Overall, marvellous。 。。。more

Epic。 Immersive。 Evocative。 This was an enjoyable conclusion to Valera and Erolas' story。 Lush settings, intriguing new characters, and unending love, all sandwiched by a desperate race against time。 The first book in this duology got me through some tough weeks and this one was just as much a treat to read。 Epic。 Immersive。 Evocative。 This was an enjoyable conclusion to Valera and Erolas' story。 Lush settings, intriguing new characters, and unending love, all sandwiched by a desperate race against time。 The first book in this duology got me through some tough weeks and this one was just as much a treat to read。 。。。more

I adore stories where love transforms the main characters, and they are willing to sacrifice anything for the other’s wellbeing。 Valera and Erolas grow into such a love。 In this sequel, Valera must make difficult choices in order to save her husband, she finds strength in herself and her gifts。 Her kind nature pays off in unexpected ways。 I do hope there is a book for her sister。 Mercedes had left us with unfinished business there。 I highly recommend this author。

Oh。my。god!I'm not even sure I know where to start。 This book enraptured me。 The beautifully detailed worlds she brought to life, the creatures in those worlds, the intricate magics she created, and not to mention the character growth! The conclusion of this two-book series was fabulous, just as I expected it to be。 The author (as always) played my emotions like energetic fingers across piano keys。Valera returns to her own realm, reunites with her (big!) sister Brielle, and we find out things about the siblings that have never been uttered to each other。 Once Valera realises just how much she loves him, she decides to save her husband, Erolas, from the long-fingered clutches of the Pale Queen before he is lost to her forever。V The conclusion of this two-book series was fabulous, just as I expected it to be。 The author (as always) played my emotions like energetic fingers across piano keys。Valera returns to her own realm, reunites with her (big!) sister Brielle, and we find out things about the siblings that have never been uttered to each other。 Once Valera realises just how much she loves him, she decides to save her husband, Erolas, from the long-fingered clutches of the Pale Queen before he is lost to her forever。Valera meets some unsavoury characters on the way, who are excellently put together, and is put in some mighty dangerous situations。 Mercedes' worldbuilding and events are well thought-out and, like the first book, you'll be drawn in and rooting for the couple。 (Possibly even out loud。 Yup, little squeaks came from my lips。 Much to the annoyance of my husband。) The pace is faster than book one which fits well with the contents of the tale。 You could FEEL Valera's frustrations, her fear, and her successes。 Loved this and adored the ending。I chose to read a copy of this work, which I then honestly reviewed。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

I was beside myself waiting for The Sunfire King after the basically obsessing over The Moonfire Bride。 And it was so beautiful, so breathtaking。 I will forever love this duology。 The worlds, the magic - stunning。Now, as for what to expect, The Sunfire King is a very different chapter in Valera and Erolas' story than The Moonfire Bride。 The Moonfire Bride was desperately sweet and romantic but wasn't a whole lot of adventure。 The Sunfire King focuses much more on adventure and Valera overcoming I was beside myself waiting for The Sunfire King after the basically obsessing over The Moonfire Bride。 And it was so beautiful, so breathtaking。 I will forever love this duology。 The worlds, the magic - stunning。Now, as for what to expect, The Sunfire King is a very different chapter in Valera and Erolas' story than The Moonfire Bride。 The Moonfire Bride was desperately sweet and romantic but wasn't a whole lot of adventure。 The Sunfire King focuses much more on adventure and Valera overcoming a LOT of stacked odds。 So there's not as much Valera-and-Erolas time (naturally) as The Moonfire Bride。 But we DO still get some heart-melting scenes with them toward the end。This duology is my favorite read of the YEAR so far。 Highly recommend if you love tales of stolen fae brides, underdog heroines, and swoon-worthy-as-heck heroes。 Content Note: Mature by my standards, though no on-page sex。 。。。more

This was amazing!! This story picked up where the other left off with the right amount of suspense to keep you engaged for the entire book。 Valera was able to put all of her doubts behind her to accomplish what she needed too。 Erolas is so yummy, I wish we can get more of him💜。 I also loved Brielle and Valera’s relationship and how it evolved。 Of course Sylvia writes to draw you in like a moth to a flame, so she once again has me hooked!

I really enjoyed the conclusion to this duology。 The nature of the plot meant there isn’t as much romance in this one compared to the first but there’s lots of action。 Valera’s journey to find Erolas is full of twists and interesting characters。 I’m sad this story has come to an end because I found this world so interesting! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review。

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review。 After finishing The Moonfire Bride, I couldn't wait for this book。 It picked up right where book 1 left off。 Valera, although heartbroken and not the adventurous type like her sister, sets out on a journey of epic proportions。 She fought her way through so much to get back to Erolas and kept on fighting。 She grew so much during this journey。I loved the attention to detail throughout her journey - the lands/realms that she crossed, I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review。 After finishing The Moonfire Bride, I couldn't wait for this book。 It picked up right where book 1 left off。 Valera, although heartbroken and not the adventurous type like her sister, sets out on a journey of epic proportions。 She fought her way through so much to get back to Erolas and kept on fighting。 She grew so much during this journey。I loved the attention to detail throughout her journey - the lands/realms that she crossed, the tests that she faced, her emotions。 I cried along with her, shouted encouragement to her and cheered her on。Erolas - I loved him in book one, and here in book 2 I found my heart breaking for him。 I was rooting for him throughout Valera's journey。 This was such a great story! I have been looking forward to the conclusion of Erolas and Valera's story, and I was not disappointed。 Sylvia Mercedes continues to build a new, exciting world for us to visit and get drawn into。 We are back with Valera, and her sister, Brielle。 Where Erolas has gone is a mystery, and one that Valera is determined to solve! I am a huge fan of the Venatrix series - read every book there。 I can honestly say that The Sunfire King is my favorite book! Even if you didn't read the first book ( but you really should), you will love this book。 The character of Valera is developed into a woman of courage! I also liked that those little servant characters reappeared from book one。 I tend to like books with darker themes and descriptions, so reading the second half of this book especially was totally engaging! Not Psyche and Eros - this was a twisted yet faithful rendition of "East of the Sun, West of the Moon"。 It was good to see Valera find her backbone and her strength to recognize what she had and could have, once she took action。 I liked this; it made up for the slow pace of the first book and brought everything to a triumpant finale。 Now, I have to wonder how Brielle does with the opportunity before her。I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review。 Not Psyche and Eros - this was a twisted yet faithful rendition of "East of the Sun, West of the Moon"。 It was good to see Valera find her backbone and her strength to recognize what she had and could have, once she took action。 I liked this; it made up for the slow pace of the first book and brought everything to a triumpant finale。 Now, I have to wonder how Brielle does with the opportunity before her。I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

What an adventure!!Takes off right where book one ends and doesn’t let up! Vali goes on such a journey of self discovery, runs for her life, battles various Fae creatures and fights for not only her survival but fights for her husband。 Totally unique worlds folded within the realms。 New magic, glorious descriptions and heart pounding action。 I won’t spoil anything more but I seriously NEED Brielle and Dire’s story。 Brielle has such a rich story and life that needs to be told。
